Using Solution Focused Brief Therapy in Speech Language Pathology
This seminar is worth 3 contact hours and will be limited to 10 participants. The cost of attendance is $45. These contact hours may be used for ASHA and Ohio Board continuing education credits.
A description of the course follows:
Cognitive based approaches have been discussed widely in speech language pathology. Among these approaches gaining attention is cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. Gaining less attention is Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which has been found to be useful in helping a wide range of individuals overcome the difficult problems in their lives. The application of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to stuttering and other communication disorders will be demonstrated and applied to case studies.
Identify the basic tenants of SFBT.
Demonstrate the basic procedures used in SFBT
Identify ways that SFBT can translate to current clinical practice.
AccuTx University has chosen to offer these courses at an affordable and accessible cost to allow for participants to partake in continuing education experiences locally and without high out of pocket expense.
