Meet the AccuTx Team
Emily Russell, MA, CCC-SLP
Emily Russell is a tireless speech-language pathology researching machine. Between spending her time catching up on the latest therapy trends, reviewing professional articles and teaching SLP courses at University of Toledo, Emily catches her breath while snuggling her Boston Terrier Buttons and her Burmese cat Mr. Pig. While Speech Pathology is her main passion, her second is traveling; whether it be cruising around the Caribbean or touring Europe. After graduating with her Master's in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toledo, Emily started working in the Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care setting. While there, she saw a desperate need for affordable, yet effective, therapy tools. Available tools were either too expensive and inaccessible for her, let alone her patients. Emily pairs her academic research interests in language, cognition and dysphagia with real-world experience. She co-founded AccuTx with the mission of providing evidence-based, effective, and affordable tools and applications that help other therapists in the medical setting; enabling them to provide a higher level of care for their patients.
Dan Peterson, BSc
Hailing from the Great White North, Dan is a web development powerhouse and hockey aficionado. A true Canadian stereotype, Dan lost his front teeth due to hockey related shenanigans and is undeniably likeable and polite. From the young age of 12, Dan has been plying his programming craft, creating web-related delights for the world to enjoy. When he's not impressing the partners at AccuTx with his techy know-how, he enjoys spending time with his daughter and better half, Emily (CEO and co-founder). Dan has a decade of experience as a full-stack developer in the finance and manufacturing sectors. He has programmed websites, mobile apps, and windows applications. This is his second venture, having run a successful sports simulation website and company in the early 2000's.

He operates the Northwest Ohio Stuttering Clinic, a clinical, research and training program at the University of Toledo. He is a regular presenter with state and national organizations, and writes regularly for professional journals. In his free-time, Rod loves spending time with his family, gardening, and volunteering in the community. He is excited to join AccuTx in the role of Chief Academic Officer.
